Any resemblance to other online tutorials is purely coincidence ŠN@thy 2007 This tutorial was written using PSP 9, but can be done in other versions ~ You will need ~ The snow I used is by Stephanie Shimerdla. You can find her awesome work @ Obsidian Dawn MuRa's Meister Copies, you can download here Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day trial can be downloaded here My supplies here. The zip includes tubes, patterns and font Open tubes in psp Tubes have HIDDEN layers which mean you must unhide to see them Minimize them all Double click to open the font "Scriptina" and minimize it on your desktop Set your foreground color to White (#FFFFFF) Set your background color to #A50000 ~ Step 1 ~ File, New Width set to 700 and Height set to 725 with transparent background Set your Foreground to pattern, find nathy_scratches_500paper_7.jpg and use these settings: Angle: 0, Scale: 100 Activate your Selection Tool, click on Custom Selection and use these settings: Left: 106, Top: 110, Right: 594, Bottom: 614 Fill the selection with your pattern Selections, Modify, Contract 3 Hit delete once on your keyboard Layers, New Raster Layer Set your foreground back to color (should be white still) and fill the selection Move this layer below the frame layer ~ Step 2 ~ Layers, New Raster Layer Set your Foreground to pattern, find nathy_sweetchristmas_paper_5.jpg and use these settings: Angle: 0, Scale: 15 Fill the selection with your pattern Change the Opacity to 40 Selections, Select None Layers, Merge, Merge Visible ~ Step 3 ~ Effects, Plugins, MuRa's Meister, Copies and use these settings: Click on the arrow to select a preset, choose Afterimage(sphere random) and click OK ![]() Effects, Plugins, MuRa's Meister, Copies and use these settings: Click on the arrow to select a preset, choose Afterimage(rotate random) and click OK ***You results will probably be a little bit different than mine and its normal I think I redid this about 20 times and each time the result was different, I guess the filter does that*** Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings: Direction: Left, Degrees: 10, all other options Unchecked Move the frames down as much as you can into the working area but keep them centered ~ Step 4 ~ Layers, New Raster Layer Set your Foreground to pattern, find nathy_scratches_500paper_7.jpg and use these settings: Angle: 0, Scale: 100 Activate your Selection Tool, click on Custom Selection and use these settings: Left: 140, Top: 98, Right: 569, Bottom: 552 Fill the selection with your pattern Selections, Modify, Contract 10 Hit delete once on your keyboard Selections, Select None ~ Step 5 ~ Layers, New Raster Layer Layers, Arrange, Move Down Set your foreground back to color (should be white still) and fill this layer Maximize Christmas11Nov07Bnll.pspimage Hide the credits layer Edit, Copy Merged Paste as new layer into your working area Move it up a little Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur and set the Radius to 7 Change the Opacity to 78 ~ Step 6 ~ Copy joyouschristmas-sandi.pspimage and paste as new layer Change the Blend Mode to Soft Light Move the tube up a little and to the right Click on the frame layer to activate it (should be top layer) Activate your Magic Wand and use these settings: Mode: Add, Match mode: RBG Value, Tolerance: 0, Contiguous Checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias Checked, Outside Select outside the frame Activate the scenery layer we just put and hit delete once on your keyboard Activate the layer underneath (should be the christmas ball) and hit delete once on your keyboard Activate the white layer below this one and hit delete once again Selections, Select None ~ Step 7 ~ Activate the frame layer (should be top layer) Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: 2, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color: #000000 Copy jet-christmaswoman-november-2007.pspimage and paste as new layer Image, Resize and use these settings: 75 Percent, Resample using Smart Size, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as before but Check Shadow on new layer Set the Opacity of the shadow layer to 50 Activate the lady layer and repeat the drop shadow but change Vertical and Horizontal to -2 Set the Opacity of this shadow layer to 50 as well Move the lady down into the left bottom corner (look at my image for placement) Activate your Selection Tool and select the bottom part outside the frame ![]() Hit delete once on your keyboard and do the same for both shadow layers Selections, Select None ~ Step 8 ~ Copy nathy_christmasfun_tag_2.png and paste as new layer Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top Image, Resize and use these settings: 50 Percent, Resample using Smart Size, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings: Direction: Left, Degrees: 10, all other options Unchecked Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen Move the tag into the top left corner Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: 2, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color: #000000 ~ Step 9 ~ Maximize nathyminiscrews.png Select the small screw with your Selection Tool Copy and paste as new layer into your working area Image, Resize and use these settings: 55 Percent, Resample using Smart Size, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked Move the screw into the top left corner so its holding the tag Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 50, Blur: 1, Color: #000000 ~ Step 10 ~ Copy christmasball.psp and paste as new layer Move the ball into the top right corner Copy GGSantaHat_004.psp and paste as new layer Image, Resize and use these settings: 70 Percent, Resample using Smart Size, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings: Direction: Right, Degrees: 20, all other options Unchecked Move the hat into the top right corner Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: 2, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color: #000000, Shadow on new layer Checked Set the Opacity of the shadow layer to 50 ~ Step 11 ~ Copy nathy_ribbon_wrap_red.png and paste as new layer Layers, Arrange, Bring to top Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings: Direction: Left, Degrees: 10, all other options Unchecked Move the ribbon down so its aligned with the front frame we made (NOT the lady's frame!) with Mura's Meister but leave about 7-8 pixels at the bottom (look at my image for placement) Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: -1, Horizontal: 0, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color: #000000 ~ Step 12 ~ Activate the Text tool and use the following settings: Foreground set to White (#FFFFFF) Background set to #A50000 Type your name Position your name at the bottom of the frame Layers, Convert to Raster Layer Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings: Vertical: 2, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color: #000000 Layers, Merge, Merge Visible ~ Step 13 ~ Crop your image using the Crop Tool Image, Canvas Size Add 40 pixels to your Width and Height Placement will be centred with 20 pixels all around Layers, New Raster Layer Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom Fill this layer with white ~ Step 14 ~ Copy SS-snow.png and paste as new layer Unlock the transparency for this layer ![]() Right click on any dark spot in the snow layer to fill with your background color (red) Lock the transparency ![]() ~ Step 15 ~ Make sure mask.jpg is open in psp Layers, New Mask Layer, From Image... and use these settings: Source window: mask.jpg, Create mask from: Source luminance, Invert mask data Unchecked Right click on on Group, Merge, Merge Group Change the Opacity to 40 ~ Step 16 ~ Hide the white layer and crop your image once again Unhide the white layer Layers, Merge All (Flatten) Add your watermark, resize if you'd like and save your work as jpg Your tag is finished.
