This tutorial was written using PSP 9, but can be done in other versions

~ You will need ~

The alpha set I used is by Dozi. You can download it here (2nd set from the top)

Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day trial can be downloaded here
Simple (Top Left Mirror), you can download here
My supplies here. The zips include the tubes, background, plaid texture, alpha and font

I included the plaid texture in case you dont have it
(if thats the case just put it in your texture folder)
Open the tubes and background in psp
Tubes have HIDDEN layers which mean you must unhide to see them
Minimize them all
Double click to open the font "5thGrader" and minimize it on your desktop

~ Step 1 ~

Maximize mds5802 Woman.pspimage
Duplicate and close the original
Delete Raster 3
Hide Raster 2 for now
Click on Raster 1 to activate it
Copy cracksandwalls_79.pspimage and paste as new layer
Change the Blend Mode to Lighten
Copy cracksandwalls_76.pspimage and paste as new layer
Change the Opacity to 80

~ Step 2 ~

Copy Lost_time.psp and paste as new layer
Move the tube all the way to the left but make sure we still see the 9 in the bottom clock
Change the Blend Mode to Dodge
Maximize antique_pocket_watch3.psp
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings:
Direction: Right, Degrees: 90, All layers Checked, Rotate single layers(..) unchecked
Copy and paste as new layer into your canvas
Move it down a little and to the right but make sure we still see the 10 (X)
Change the Blend Mode to Dodge
Change the Opacity to 46

~ Step 3 ~

Unhide your tube layer (should be Raster 2, top layer)
Duplicate it twice
Activate top layer
Adjust, Sharpness, Unsharp Mask and use these settings:
Radius: 2, Strength: 100, Clipping: 5, Luminance only unchecked
Change the Opacity to 30
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Minimize this we will need it later

~ Step 4 ~

File, New
Width: 650, Height: 500, Transparent Background
Set your foreground color to #9D9570
Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Fill this layer with your foreground color

~ Step 5 ~

Effects, Texture Effects, Texture and use these settings:



Repeat the Texture once again
Adjust, Brightness and Contrast, Gamma Correction and use these settings:
Link Checked, Red Green Blue set to 0.50
Copy brushes.pspimage and paste as new layer (or use any brushes you'd like)

~ Step 6 ~

Copy verticalbg2.jpg and paste as new layer
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:



Repeat Drop Shadow but change Vertical and Horizontal to -2
Duplicate this background
Image, Resize and use these settings:
95 Percent, Resample using Bicubic, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked

~ Step 7 ~

Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings:
Direction: Left, Degrees: 5, other options unchecked
Move the background to the left
Move this layer down into the Layers Palette
Layers, Duplicate
Image, Mirror
Move this background a little bit to the left so we see the big dot



~ Step 8 ~

Maximize the image we made earlier
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 0, Top: 0, Right: 117, Bottom: 374
Edit, Copy
Selections, Select None
Back to our working area
Layers, New Raster Layer
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 52, Top: 63, Right: 169, Bottom: 437
Edit, Paste Into Selection
Selections, Select None

~ Step 9 ~

Back to the image
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 117, Top: 0, Right: 405, Bottom: 374
Edit, Copy
Selections, Select None
Back to our working area
Stay on the same layer
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 181, Top: 63, Right: 469, Bottom: 437
Edit, Paste Into Selection
Selections, Select None

~ Step 10 ~

Back to the image
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 405, Top: 0, Right: 522, Bottom: 374
Edit, Copy
Selections, Select None
Back to our working area
Stay on the same layer
Activate your Selection Tool
Activate the Custom Selection and use these settings:
Left: 481, Top: 63, Right: 598, Bottom: 437
Edit, Paste Into Selection
Selections, Select None

~ Step 11 ~

Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use these settings:



Adjust, Brightness and Contrast, Clarify and use this setting:
Strength of effect: 3
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:



~ Step 12 ~

Maximize hinges-lg.psp
Copy the Layer5 and paste as new layer into your working area
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize and use these settings:
Hue: 36, Saturation: 51
Image, Resize and use these settings:
40 Percent, Resample using Bicubic, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked
Position the hinge into the top left corner of the image
Effects, Plugins, Simple, Top Left Mirror (just click ok)
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:



~ Step 13 ~

Copy Element_RibbonTwist.pspimage and paste as new layer
Move the ribbon into the top left corner of the image
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize and use these settings:
Hue: 36, Saturation: 51
Adjust, Brightness and Contrast, Clarify and use this setting:
Strength of effect: 5
Repeat Clarify 2 more times
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as step 11

~ Step 14 ~

Copy fabbows__17_.psp and paste as new layer
Image, Resize and use these settings:
40 Percent, Resample using Bicubic, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked
Move the bow into the top left corner of the image (on top of the ribbon)
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize and use these settings:
Hue: 36, Saturation: 51
Adjust, Brightness and Contrast, Clarify and use this setting:
Strength of effect: 5
Repeat Clarify 1 more time
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as before

~ Step 15 ~

Copy Jewelery.pspimage and paste as new layer
Move the jewel into the top right corner of the image
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as before
Copy tag1.png and paste as new layer
Image, Resize and use these settings:
90 Percent, Resample using Bicubic, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Unchecked
Repeat Resize 6 more times (we do this so the tag is not all distorted)
Position the tag so it will look like its hanging from the jewel
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize and use these settings:
Hue: 36, Saturation: 51
Using your Freehand Selection Tool set to Point to Point, select the tag's part that should be under the ring
You might want to zoom in for a better view
Once you have it selected, hit delete on your keyboard



~ Step 16 ~

Activate the Text tool and use the following settings:



Set your Foreground color to NULL
Set your Background color to #C4BDA6
Type your name
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate and use these settings:
Direction: Left, Degrees: 90, other options unchecked
Position your name inside the tag
Layers, Convert to Raster Layer
Change the Blend Mode to Hard Light
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and these settings:
Make sure Shadow on new layer IS checked!



~ Step 17 ~

Maximize katzerl's-alphas-METALPLATES-01.psp
Duplicate and close the original
Image, Resize and use these settings:
30 Percent, Resample using Bicubic, Lock aspect ratio Checked, Resize all layers Checked
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize and use these settings:
Hue: 36, Saturation: 51
Using the Selection Tool set to rectangle, select the L letter than paste as new layer into your working area
Do the same with each letter to form the words Lost In Time
Position them like you want (look at my image for guidance)
Apply the following Drop Shadow to each letter:



~ Step 18 ~

Layers, Merge All (Flatten)
You could add a border (I chose not to)
Add your watermark, resize if you'd like and save your work as jpg
