This tutorial was written using PSP 9, but can be done in other versions

~ You will need ~
The picture I used is by Antje Darling. You can find her awesome artwork at Antje's Graphics.com
Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day trial can be downloaded here
Mura's Seamless Filters C (Emboss at Alpha), you can download here
My supplies here. The zip includes the image, mask and the texture

Put your mask in your mask folder
Put your texture in your texture folder
Open your image in psp and minimize it for later use
Set your foreground color to #9DB5bF
Set your background color to #395350

File, New
Width: 600, Height: 300, Transparent background
Layers, New Raster Layer
Fill the layer with your light color
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Find NathyMask56 mask and use these settings:



Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Effects, Plugins, Mura's Seamless, Emboss at Alpha and use these settings:



Image, Canvas Size
Change the Height to 350 (the Width doesnt change)
Placement will be Top: 25 and Bottom: 25
Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Fill the layer with your dark color

Activate your Magic Wand and use these settings:



Click on the dark color outside the squares
Selections, Invert
Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:



Repeat Drop Shadow but change Vertical and Horizontal to -5
Selections, Select None

Now click in the middle of the big front square to select it
Selections, Modify, Contract 1
Maximize your picture and copy it
Back to our main image
Edit, Paste, Paste into Selection
Layers, New Raster Layer
Effects, 3D Effects, Cutout and use these settings:



Selections, Select None

Now click in the big square in the back to select it
Selections, Modify, Contract 1
Edit, Paste, Paste into Selection
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur and set the Radius to 3
Layers, New Raster Layer
Effects, 3D Effects, Cutout and use the same settings as before
Selections, Select None

Activate your bottom layer
Activate your Selection Tool and use these settings:



Click on Custom Selection (shown by the red arrow)
And use these settings:
Top: 10, Left: 0, Right: 600, Bottom: 340
Effects, Texture Effects, Texture
Find Footpath texture and use these settings:



Selections, Select None

Activate your Selection Tool
Click on Custom Selection again and use these settings:
Top: 340, Left: 0, Right: 600, Bottom: 350
Layers, New Raster Layer
Fill your selection with black
Selections, Modify, Contract 1
Fill the selection with your dark color
Selections, Select None

Activate your Selection Tool
Click on Custom Selection once again and use the same settings as before
Selections, Invert
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:



Selections, Select None

Activate Raster Deform Tool
Move your mouse until the white double-headed arrow appears
(like in the screen shot)



Once you see it left click on your mouse, hold and drag it past the right side of the image
(like in the screen shot)



This will extend the border out past the strip getting rid of any seams
Do the same thing on the left side

Layers, Duplicate
Image, Flip
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Image, Canvas Size
Change the Height to 900 (the Width doesnt change)
Placement will be Bottom: 550
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings:
Make sure Shadow on new layer IS checked!



Activate Raster Deform Tool
Move your mouse until the white double-headed arrow appears
(like in the screen shot)



Once you see it left click on your mouse, hold and drag it past the right side of the image
(like in the screen shot)



This will extend the border out past the strip getting rid of any seams
Do the same thing on the left side
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Layers, New Raster Layer
Layers, Arrange, Send to bottom
Fill with your dark color
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise and use these settings:



Effects, Texture Effects, Fine Leather and use these settings:



Layers, Properties, Change the Opacity to 78
Layers, Merge, Merge All (Flatten)
